Bridgetown Veterinary Emergency and Referral (BVER) is a specialty animal hospital located in Portland, Oregon. Our hospital team includes highly skilled veterinarians specializing in Emergency/Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, Ophthalmology, supported by dedicated technicians and support staff.

Currently, we are seeking an experienced overnight Certified Veterinary Technician for our ICU department. The position involves three 12-hour overnight shifts, scheduled Thursday through Saturday from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. A minimum of 2 years of ICU experience is required.

Essential Job Functions

• Triage and assessment of cases, alerting DVM of critical patients
• Perform diagnostic tests and procedures
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by DVM
• Provide support and education to pet owners
• Maintain accurate medical records

Required Skills

• Valid CVT certification in Oregon
• Prior experience in emergency or specialty veterinary hospital
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations
• Confidence in life-saving procedures such as CPR, chest taps, urinary deobstruction
• Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills; advanced skills preferred
• Experience assisting with surgical and sedated procedures, including management of unstable patients; anesthesia training will be provided
