Job summary

Heartland Veterinary Partners is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join a patient-first practice redefining care with a new DVM team and integrative medicine approaches (acupuncture, allergy testing, diet consultations, supplements).

Responsibilities include assisting veterinarians in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, lab work, nursing, and client education, with a competitive pay range and opportunities for growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Must hold a state license to practice as a certified/licensed veterinary technician.
• Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 lbs, with assistance for heavier lifts.
• Workplace safety using PPE as required by OSHA.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office.
• Ability to calculate medication dosages accurately.
• Strong communication to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with medical care and surgeries as needed.
• Take histories, vitals, and weights during outpatient exams and educate clients.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor during procedures.
• Collect samples and perform in-hospital laboratory testing; prepare specimens for external labs.
• Capture radiographs following safety protocols.
• Handle and restrain animals during examinations as required.
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments per veterinarian instructions.
• Maintain cleanliness and restock exam rooms and equipment.
• Demonstrate warmth and professionalism in client interactions.
