Job summary

Heartland Veterinary Partners LLC is seeking a Veterinary Technician to assist veterinarians and support staff in patient care and treatment. The role involves monitoring hospitalized pets, maintaining inventory, preparing prescriptions, and in-house lab duties, with a focus on client education and teamwork.

The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of experience and CVT credentials, though highly experienced non-credentialed technicians will be considered.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in veterinary settings preferred.
• Certified Veterinary Technician; open to experienced non-credentialed technicians.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in veterinary medicine and surgery as needed.
• Take histories, vital signs, weights, and client education during outpatient exams.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during procedures.
• Collect samples and perform in-hospital lab work; prepare specimens for outside labs.
• Take and develop radiographs following safety procedures.
• Handle and restrain animals during exams.
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
