Job summary

Westside Animal Clinic is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician in Worcester, MA for a full-time role. The position supports veterinarians in examinations, surgeries, and patient care across day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. Expect 30–40 hours weekly with a patient-centered team environment.

Ideal candidates will have CVT credentials or MA certification eligibility, strong animal-handling skills, and a collaborative work style in a fast-paced clinic setting.

Qualifications

• Current CVT credential or eligibility for certification in MA.
• Strong animal-handling and patient-care skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and coworkers.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to veterinary patients.
• Assist veterinarians with examinations, procedures, treatments, and surgeries.
• Obtain and record patient histories, vital signs, and medical information.
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, laboratory testing, radiographs, and other technician-level procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
• Monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
• Educate clients regarding medications, treatments, preventive care, nutrition, and follow-up instructions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment and patient-care environment.
• Communicate effectively with doctors and the entire veterinary team.
• Follow established hospital protocols for patient safety, infection control, and equipment maintenance.
