Job summary

Spay Neuter Clinic of the Carolinas is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, labs, and client education.

The role follows a Monday–Friday 7:30 am–5:00 pm schedule, with opportunities for professional development and state licensing support. The clinic emphasizes compassion and teamwork in a low-cost, high-quality care environment.

Qualifications

• Active license to practice as a veterinary technician in the state of employment.
• Ability to lift patients up to 25 pounds; assist with heavier lifts with support.
• Following OSHA safety techniques and using proper PPE.
• Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS Office applications.
• Basic math skills including calculating medication dosages.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in exams and surgeries and other tasks as needed.
• Take histories, vitals, and weights; provide client education.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor during procedures.
• Obtain and process lab samples; in-house testing and prep for external labs.
• Take and maintain radiographs following safety procedures.
• Handle and restrain animals during exams as required.
• Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Keep exam rooms, treatment and lab areas clean; restock supplies.
• Demonstrate warmth and professionalism with clients and patients.
• Communicate with veterinarians and team members about patient plans and concerns.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
