PetVet Care Centers’ Cedar Mill Veterinary Hospital is currently seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join their team.

Position Overview

As a Certified Veterinary Technician, you will support hospital operations by providing quality veterinary care and exceptional service to patients and clients. Your responsibilities include patient care, surgical assistance, nursing care, equipment and inventory management, and record‑keeping.

Key Responsibilities

• Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations, reviewing care plans, completing laboratory tests, and diagnostic imaging.
• Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications and vaccines, and bandaging wounds.
• Support patient examinations and operations by assembling supplies, restraining patients, and assisting the veterinarian.
• Apply full knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, pharmacology, and specialized equipment.
• Obtain and verify medications.
• Ensure patients have food and water, clean rooms, cages, and equipment, and observe clinical signs.
• Fill prescriptions, administer medications, and document controlled drugs securely.
• Maintain a sterile, safe, and humane environment following legal regulations.
• Document medical records and update the database accurately.
• Communicate patient status to owners as directed by the veterinarian.
• Maintain equipment through troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
• Manage inventory, place orders, and maintain receipts.
• Participate in educational opportunities to update job knowledge.
• Release pets to owners after ensuring cleanliness and grooming.
• Follow oral and written directions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or practice.

Qualifications (Required)

• High school diploma or GED.
• One or more years of experience with veterinary appointments, surgeries, and nursing care for hospitalized and critical patients.
• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or state‑equivalent certification.
• Not required, but a combination of education, certification, training, and experience may be considered.
