Responsibilities

• Lead by example on the treatment floor and maintain a positive clinical environment.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join a progressive, full-service small animal veterinary practice in Pennsylvania.

This role is ideal for a CVT who is confident in the treatment room, takes initiative, communicates effectively, and enjoys mentoring and supporting other members of the veterinary team. The successful candidate will lead by example, help maintain efficient treatment-floor workflow, support veterinarians during examinations and procedures, and coach veterinary assistants and newer team members on clinical protocols and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Treatment Floor Leadership

• Lead by example in the treatment area and help maintain a positive, professional clinical environment.
• Support and delegate appropriate tasks to veterinary assistants.

Veterinary Technical Duties

• Place and manage IV catheters.
• Assist with anesthesia induction and monitoring.
• Monitor patients throughout anesthetic procedures and recovery.

Dental Support

• Perform dental prophylaxis, when trained and authorized.
• Assist with dental radiographs.

Mentorship & Team Development

• Coach veterinary assistants and new team members on clinical protocols and best practices.
• Share knowledge and technical expertise with the treatment team.

Client Communication

• Communicate professionally and compassionately with pet owners.
• Educate clients regarding patient care, treatment recommendations, medications, and follow-up instructions.

Qualifications

Required

• Current Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential in Pennsylvania.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

• 2+ years of veterinary technician experience preferred.
• Experience in a full-service small animal veterinary practice.
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring, radiology, IV catheter placement, and in-house diagnostics.
