Job description

As a full-service veterinary office, we offer state-of-the-art testing and diagnostics, an array of advanced care, routine and advanced surgical procedures, and many other services to provide your pet with the best possible care.

We seek a credentialed veterinary technician to join our growing general practice. We are a 3-doctor practice seeking to grow our staff in our new location. Our clinic offers:

• Advanced COHATs (Comprehensive Oral Health Assessment and Treatment)
• Soft tissue surgeries - Spays/Neuters, mass removals, cystotomies, etc.
• Wellness care
• Sick visits
• Advanced imaging

The ideal candidate has 1 year of experience, is comfortable with animal handling and emphasis on low-stress restraint, and is able to assist the DVM in appointments and comfortable with venipuncture in front of the clients. Proficient in taking xrays, catheter placement, basic drug calculations, and medication knowledge. The technician will work in a fast-paced environment assisting the doctor through their appointment or surgery day. Shifts are 8-6 with no Saturdays, no on call, and no holidays required. Set schedules are provided. We hire for culture first and will train the right candidate.

Position Skills:

• Professional client communication and education obtaining medical histories and symptoms
• Laboratory procedures including but not limited to: hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals
• Diagnostic imaging and implementing safety protocols of fellow staff members
• Nursing skills including: restraining patients, administering medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, applying and maintaining bandages, proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture, surgery prep, anaesthesia monitoring
• Proficient in dental prophylaxis

Position Requirements:

• Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) or the ability to transfer credentials from state to state.
• Associates degree in Veterinary Technology
