Who we are

At Vail Valley Animal Hospital, you’ll feel the warmth and openness of a small clinic, while having the opportunity and support of a united network. We are a progressive multi-doctor, state-of-the-art practice that offers emergency and critical care services, boarding, general small animal practice, and specialist diagnostics and procedures on site.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
  • Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Experience & Skills Requirements:

  • 2 years of continuous veterinary technician/assistant experience (direct animal/patient care required)
  • LVT, RVT, CVT is required (Current licensure required)
  • Desire to practice empathetic, gold standard medicine benefiting our patients
  • Team oriented with an ability to collaborate and support each other
  • Paw-sitive, kind and provide trustworthy communication to the patients, team members and clients.
  • Desire to constantly grow and advance as a veterinary technician!

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate starting at $22-$28/hr. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
