Job summary

LearnWell in Portland, Maine seeks two passionate teachers to provide academic support to adolescent patients in a behavioral health setting. You will plan daily lessons, offer individualized help, and report student progress while adapting strategies to ensure success.

Roles include full-time 7:30AM-4PM and part-time 9AM-1PM with full benefits. PTO, holidays, healthcare, 401K, life insurance, and tuition-reimbursement grants are provided.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited institution.
• Maine teaching license.
• Comfortable working with adolescent aged students.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily lesson plans.

For more than 26 years, we have provided on-site educational services in hospitals, helping these school-age patients continue their education during treatment and reintegrate successfully into the classroom. Currently, we are seeking TWO passionate and creative teacher to join our team in Portland, Maine. This unique position will involve working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to adolescent school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. Additionally, you will monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports. Most of our class sizes range from 8 to 15 school-age patients at any one time.
