Job summary

The American Red Cross Instructor at Jeff Rouse Swim and Sport Center will teach certification classes to members and guests, reporting to the Assistant Aquatics Director and Aquatics Director.

You will promote classes, assist trainings, tailor instruction to age and ability, communicate progress, and enforce center policies while ensuring safety in a wet pool environment.

This role requires strong customer service, teamwork, and reliable performance in a fast-paced aquatic setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Eligible for Lifeguard and Lifeguard Instructor certifications.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to various ages and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Promote classes to JRSSC members and guests.
• Assist in regular in service trainings.
• Adapt teaching approaches to each participant's age and ability.
• Communicate progress to participants.
• Work in a wet pool environment while maintaining safety and center policies.
