Job summary

Minneapolis Club is seeking a dedicated Swim Instructor to provide an educational, friendly, motivating experience for members in Minneapolis. The role covers youth and adult swim lessons and aqua programs, with a focus on safety and progressive instruction.

Responsibilities include delivering high-quality lessons, maintaining documentation, and staying engaged with members in the pool and fitness areas. Must have WSI and CPR/AED certifications and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Current WSI Certification required.
• 2–5 years’ experience coordinating and instructing aqua programs.
• 2–5 years’ experience instructing swim lessons for youth and adults.
• CPR/AED certification required.
• Extremely strong communication skills in spoken and written form.
• Personable with strong people skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate practical knowledge of swim instruction skills, aqua aerobics programming and stroke analysis.
• Provide safe and effective swim lessons for youth and adults with progression levels.
• Teach safe and effective adult aqua classes.
• Ensure consistent and thorough documentation of medical and/or special needs of clients.
• Exhibit high level of customer service with superior member readiness skills.
• Be consistently visible in the fitness center and pool area and assist members with needs.
• Welcome new and existing members and address any issues.
• Maintain professional image through verbal and non-verbal communication.
• Lead by example with a healthy lifestyle for members to emulate.
• Arrive 15 minutes early, prepare session materials and equipment.
• Complete billing, files, and distribute handouts as needed.
• Remain flexible in scheduling and cover sessions during emergencies.
