Job Summary and Qualifications
The Surgical Technologist is an active team member in the Operating Room, working under the supervision of the OR nurse. This role is responsible for maintaining the sterile field, handling instrumentation, ensuring sterile technique, and other tasks during procedures.
What you will do in this role:
- Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, treatment, and care of patients of all ages.
- Promote customer service initiatives.
- Function as a scrub person during surgeries.
- Perform technical skills and procedures.
- Assist in intra-operative patient care by performing technical duties as assigned.
- Deliver compassionate, holistic care, respecting patient rights and dignity.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech Program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist is required.
- Surgical technologist students may be hired prior to graduation (within 3 months). Verification of completion is required upon graduation; failure to do so may result in termination.
- Ability to perform work requiring standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
