This role emphasizes teamwork, on-call flexibility, ongoing education, and adherence to hospital policies. Certification as a Surgical Technologist and VA state credentials are required; one year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Surgical Technology Program or on the Job Training.
• One year of experience as a Surgical Technologist (preferred).
• Certified Surgical Technologist by VA and National certification required; BCLS with 30-day grace period.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes aseptic technique to create and maintain a sterile field.
• Scrubs as related to unit scope of care.
• Plans and provides equipment and supplies based on patient and physician needs.
• Promotes cost containment while delivering quality patient care within the operating room.
• Works as a member of the Surgical Services Team to promote teamwork.
• Demonstrates flexibility to cover other functions within Surgical Services and procedural areas.
• Pursues professional growth through continuing education and in services.
• Participates in department on-call assignments.
• Adheres to hospital policies and supports hospital mission.
