Job summary

SCA Health is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) in Escondido, California. The CST will scrub during operative procedures, prepare instruments for sterilization, and help clean the procedure room between cases.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program, and BLS certification within 90 days or current certification; CST certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum education required is high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program is required.
• Experience as a CST is preferred but not always mandatory.
• Current CST certification is preferred.
• Successful completion of BLS within 90 days or proof of current certification.

Responsibilities

• Function as a scrub person during operative and other invasive procedures.
• Clean and prepare surgical instruments for processing and transport to decontamination areas.
• Assist with post-procedure cleaning of the procedure room and prepare for the next patient.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Graduate of a recognized Surgical Technologist program

Prior experience as a Surgical Technologist

Current Surgical Technologist certification

BLS certification within 90 days of employment
