Job summary

The Abilene Center For Orthopedic and Multispecialty Surgery in Abilene, TX is seeking a Scrub Tech for per diem coverage. You will maintain a sterile field, pass instruments, and assist the surgical team during procedures to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities include preparing the OR, handling supplies, and adhering to universal precautions and Center policies. A high school diploma is required; CAAHEP-accredited program preferred and BLS is a plus.

Qualifications

• Post-high school program accredited by CAAHEP is required.
• Certified surgical technologist preferred (CST or CORT).
• 1 year experience in surgical setting preferred.
• BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a sterile field in the operating room during procedures.
• Passes instruments, sutures, and sponges to surgeons and assistants.
• Assists with preparing OR, transporting patients, and setting up equipment.
• Adheres to universal precautions and JCAHO standards.
• Cleans, restocks, and maintains supplies and equipment.
• Documents procedures and participates in quality improvement activities.
