Job summary

Animas Surgical Hospital in Durango, CO is seeking a Surgical Technologist / Certified Surgical Technologist to maintain sterile fields and support surgical teams. This full-time, on-site role supports OR operations under the supervision of the OR RN Supervisor and Director of Surgical Services.

The position requires High School Diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited surgical technology program, CPR certification, and DORA registration where applicable.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or its equivalent; completion of accredited school of surgical technology or the equivalent in clinical surgery training and experience.
• CPR certification required; DORA registered as applicable.
• Experience: 2 years surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains a sterile field for surgical procedures.
• Prepares medical equipment, instruments and supplies for surgery.
• Assists with surgical patient care under the direction of an RN or physician.
• Performs room turnover and maintains sterility and safety throughout cases.
• Recognizes and responds to equipment or supply deficiencies and communicates them appropriately.
