Northwest Health - Porter is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to support the operating room team in delivering safe, high-quality patient care. You will maintain sterile fields, prepare the OR, and assist with instrument handling, counts, and room setup.

This role emphasizes infection control, adherence to safety standards, teamwork with perioperative staff, and ongoing competency with instrument processing.

Qualifications

• Technical School graduate of Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program required.
• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences required.
• 0-2 years of operating room surgical technician experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room with instruments, equipment and supplies per procedure and physician preference.
• Maintains a sterile field throughout procedures using aseptic technique and universal precautions.
• Anticipates surgeon needs and passes instruments and supplies accurately during procedures.
• Inspects, cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment per policy.
• Counts sponges, needles and instruments with the circulating nurse to ensure patient safety.
