Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Surgical Technician in Labor and Delivery, you will:

• Assist in cleaning and preparing the operating room and equipment.
• Perform in a sterile field, assisting the surgeon with instrumentation.
• Care for the operative patient before, during, and after surgery.

You will:

• Perform patient care within your scope and under the supervision of the RN.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and rooms for procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe surgical environment.
• Manage intra-operative needs and assist the circulating nurse with instrument counts.
• Handle supply and equipment management, ensuring sterilization and availability.

Qualifications Needed:

Experience

• Previous operating room scrub experience.

Education

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program and certification.

Licenses and Certifications

• Must hold and maintain current Surgical Technologist certification if graduated after September 1, 2009, from a recognized certifying body.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per hospital policy.
