Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains a sterile field and assures team maintains a sterile environment.
• Correctly and safely passes instruments to clinician.
• Participates in surgical counts (sponges, needles, instruments) per policy.
• Communicates with surgeons, gastroenterologists, anesthesiologists, other staff and patients to facilitate continuity of care.
• Follows policies, procedures, regulatory standards and patient safety goals.
• Participates in the nursing process for patients of all ages served.
• Participates in unit educational activities.
