Job summary

AdventHealth in Lenexa, KS seeks a Surgical Technologist for day shifts in a part-time capacity. You will scrub and gown for procedures, maintain sterile technique, and assist the surgical team across multiple specialties.

The role requires BLS certification and experience with sterile technique; CSFA and SA-C certifications are referenced as preferred/required in various contexts. A faith-based health system offering comprehensive benefits supports your professional growth.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal skills required for teamwork and patient interaction.
• Validation skills for procedures and instrument handling.
• Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation and sterile field setup.

• Ability to organize and conduct unit in-services.
• Proficiency in at least 2 surgical specialties (preferred).

Job Description

• Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
• Scrubs, gowns, and gloves for surgical procedures.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures, displaying knowledge of procedure and patient positioning.
• Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed.
• Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants.
• Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient.
• Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy.
• Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately.
• Helps in draping sterile field.
• Passes instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedures.
• Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures.
• Prepares sterile dressings and cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
