Job summary

AdventHealth in Lenexa, KS is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to assemble, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment. This role supports operating room staff and ensures infection control and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities include decontamination, instrument turnover coordination, and inventory management in a full-time day shift at the Lenexa facility. Relevant certifications preferred and BLS required.

Qualifications

• Able to accurately identify instruments (Required)
• Ability to operate Steam Sterilizers (Required)
• Ability to operate Washer Disinfector (Required)
• Accurately read and document Biological results. (Required)
• Properly clean patient care equipment (Required)
• Ability to accurately identify specialty instrumentation (Preferred)
• Ability to accurately process complex instrumentation (Preferred)

• Returns sterile instruments to their designated locations.
• Stocks and maintains patient care equipment.
• Manages the decontamination process for surgical instruments.
• Communicates with operating room staff to assist with instrument turnovers.
• Handles the cleaning and sterilization of vendor instruments.
• Supports operating room staff with patient positioning and transportation.
• Monitors and ensures the proper functioning of sterilization equipment.
• Maintains inventory and orders supplies as needed.
• Adheres to safety and infection control policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
