Job summary

TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the Operating Room team. In this role you will maintain the sterile field, assist in instrumentation, and support the scrub process under the OR nurse supervision.

You will perform technical duties during procedures, ensure patient safety, and contribute to compassionate, holistic care for diverse patients while upholding high standards of sterility and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech Program or equivalent training.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
• Surgical technologist students may be hired prior to graduation (within 3 months of graduation). Upon graduation, verification of completion of requirements will be verified. Failure to complete graduation requirements can result in termination of the position.
• Detail-oriented with ability to sustain concentration over long periods of time.
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
• Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 25 pounds
• BLS certification (new employees have up to 90 days from date of hire to obtain the American Heart Association BLS for healthcare providers)

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages served.
• Promote customer service initiatives.
• Function as scrub person during operative procedures.
• Demonstrate ability to perform technical skills and procedures.
• Assist in the intra-operative care of the patient by performing technical duties as assigned
• Deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients.
