Job summary

Northwell Health seeks a trained Operating Room Technician to prepare rooms for procedures, maintain sterile fields, and transport patients and specimens as needed. You will support surgeons by providing instruments, gowns, and supplies with strict aseptic technique in a busy surgical unit.

The role requires completion of an accredited OR tech program and certification, plus prior clinical experience. This full-time position offers evening shifts and a dynamic hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited operating room technology program.
• Certification from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Previous experience in a clinical/medical related position.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and direct them to proper treatment area with cordiality.
• Assist communication between patients, nurses, clerks and physicians.
• Provide patient transport to appropriate units and maintain safety.
• Set up instruments and supplies for surgical procedures using aseptic technique.
• Assist with gowning/gloving and maintaining sterile field during surgery.
• Observe and report patient status and keep supply levels updated.
