Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Surgical Tech for the CVOR in Indianapolis, IN. This full-time day shift role involves preparing the operating room, handing instruments to surgeons, and assisting with patient positioning and draping during cardiovascular and related procedures.

Minimum qualifications include BLS certification within 30 days of hire and NBSTSA credential. Education options include a high school diploma with experience or an associate/technical degree.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from NBSTSA prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hand required/requested instruments to surgeon during surgery.
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor instrument counts during procedures.
• Assist surgeons' provision of hemostasis during surgery.

How you'll make an impact in this role

Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of cardiovascular and/or neuro surgical procedures.

• Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitors/tracks instrument counts throughout procedures.
• Assist surgeons' provision of hemostasis during surgery.

What minimum qualifications you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Required Credential(s):

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
