Salem Health Hospitals & Clinics in Danville, IN is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our perioperative team. The CST ensures sterile field, assists with instruments, and supports safe, efficient patient care throughout the surgical experience.

Requires graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program, CST credential, and Basic Life Support. Strong communication and teamwork are essential; preferred: 1+ year in orthopedics/general surgery and exposure to total

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures.
• Gather, inspect, and arrange surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Establish and maintain a sterile field.
• Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies during surgical procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of surgeons and surgical team members.
• Perform surgical counts according to policy.
• Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping.
• Participate in room turnover and preparation for subsequent cases.
• Assist with specimen handling according to policy.
• Support compliance with infection prevention and patient safety standards.
• Participate in on-call coverage as assigned.
• Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration with physicians, anesthesia providers, nursing staff, and support personnel.

Position Summary

The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST®) functions as an integral member of the perioperative team and is responsible for providing surgical instrumentation and assistance during operative procedures. The CST maintains the sterile field, anticipates the needs of the surgeon, and supports safe, efficient patient care throughout the surgical experience.

• Participation in weekday, weekend, and holiday call rotation as assigned.
