Surgical Technician Responsibilities

The Surgical Technician will:

• Maintain sterile field and strict aseptic technique during surgical procedures
• Prepare, organize, and manage surgical instruments and supplies
• Anticipate surgeon and operating room team needs during procedures
• Assist surgeons in the second assist role when appropriate
• Support sterile processing and central supply operations
• Assist with environmental safety and surgical suite disinfection
• Collaborate with surgeons, circulating nurses, anesthesia staff, and perioperative personnel
• Help implement and revise surgical patient care plans
• Deliver outstanding communication and customer service to patients and staff

Qualifications for the Surgical Technician Position

• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technician program
• Associate degree in Surgical Technology preferred
• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
• BLS/CPR certification required within 6 months of hire
