Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Certified Operating Room Tech in Olympia Fields, IL. The ORT prepares sterile supplies, maintains sterility, and passes instruments to the surgeon during procedures.

Qualified candidates will have an ORT program degree or 3+ years surgical experience, certification, and current BLS. Per Diem, day shifts with typical hospital operating room duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required for new hires.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or 3+ years surgical experience preferred.
• Current Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Experience scrubbing in GYN, General and Plastics.
• Experience scrubbing in ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro, etc.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile supplies and instruments for each procedure.
• Maintain sterile field during case and assist surgeon with supplies.
• Provide appropriate instruments to surgeon promptly during procedures.

Responsibilities

The Certified Operating Room Tech is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile field during case and providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years’ experience (surgical setting preferred).
• Current Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (i.e., GYN, General and Plastics).
• Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro. Etc.).
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Pay Transparency

Olympia Fields Hospital offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $25.63.
