Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of the surgeon and RN.
• Assist during operative procedures by preparing sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies, and passing items to surgeons and nurses.
• Prepare and move patients, sterilize and clean instruments, equipment, and rooms.
• Previous OR experience required.
• 6 months to 1 year surgical tech experience required.

Day-to-Day Duties

• Scrub on all cases, including ortho, trauma, sports medicine, spine, plastics, endoscopy, cysto, urology, GI, robotics, general, ENT, GYN, and hands.
• Assist with room turnover, restocking, maintaining sterile fields, handing instruments, and updating preference cards.
• Participate in a department with 8 OR suites, 1 cysto room, and 1 minor procedure room, with plans for expansion.
• Handle approximately 600-700 cases per month.
• Schedule: 36 hours/week with variable shifts; call required (4-6 shifts per 6-week schedule); weekend and weekday call details apply.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.
• One year of surgical setting experience preferred.
• Experience in a specialty field preferred.
• HS Diploma/GED required.
• Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Current registration with the Colorado DORA as a surgical technologist if working in Colorado.
• Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT as a Surgical Tech required.

Physical Requirements

Medium work; exerting up to 50 lbs occasionally, and up to 20 lbs frequently.
