Job summary

AdventHealth in Castle Rock, Colorado, is seeking a Surgical Technician (PRN) to provide dedicated support in the operating room. The role includes pre-operative patient care, specimen handling, instrument counts, and ensuring sterility and efficient turnover times.

Education requires Technical/Vocational School with Associate preferred. Minimum 2+ years of technical experience and BLS certification are required; ACLS/PALS are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patients with supportive care during pre-operative phases.
• Collects and labels specimens obtained during surgical procedures.
• Conducts instrument counts prior to surgical procedures.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
• Conducts field preparation and maintenance.
• Ensures the operating room is sterile.
• Monitors and tracks instrument counts throughout procedures.
• Maintains surgical instruments in an organized manner.
• Assists the team with safe and efficient operating room turnover times.
• Other duties as assigned.
