Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to support the operating room. You will prepare the suite, assist with patient positioning, pass instruments, and help ensure specimen handling and safety.

Required: graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program, CST certification within 12 months, CPR-BLS. The role includes comprehensive benefits, competitive pay, and opportunities for professional development.

• CST certification within twelve months of hire.
• CPR - Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, medications, solutions, instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery and tracks instruments and supplies.
• Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.

The salary range for this position is $24.29 - $36.44 (Hourly Rate).

Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

The Certified Sugical Tech facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, medications, solutions, instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies. Ensures availability and functionality of equipment and instruments.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
• Receives and processes specimens, if required, for delivery to the laboratory.

Qualifications

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) within twelve months of hire
• CPR - Basic Life Support
