Physicians Surgical Center in Lebanon, PA is seeking a part-time Certified Surgical Technician with central sterile processing experience for our fast-paced ASC. Various day shifts (Mon–Fri); no holidays or on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains medical equipment and instrumentation for surgical procedures.
• Sets up operating room with instruments, equipment, sterile drapes, and solutions prior to operation.
• Assists during pre-operation procedures and patient preparation.
• Performs pre-operation skin prep and equipment checks.
• Assembles sterile and non-sterile equipment and ensures proper function.
• Gets patients ready for surgery and assists with positioning and draping.
• Assists surgeons with sterile gowns and gloves.
• Passes instruments and supplies to surgeons and assistants.
• Counts sponges, needles, and supplies; handles specimens for lab analysis and dressings.
• Operates sterilizers, lights, suction and other diagnostic equipment.
• Transfers patients to recovery and restocks OR after procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned; demonstrates teamwork and enthusiasm.

Education / Experience / Requirements

• At least 2 years of OR experience in a fast‑paced environment

Essential Functions

• Prepares and maintains medical equipment and instrumentation for surgical procedures.
• Before an operation, helps prepare the operating room by setting up instruments, equipment, sterile drapes, and solutions.
• Follows regulations and industry procedures to tend to patients during pre‑operation procedures.
• Performs pre‑operation preparations to the patient's skin, body and medical equipment.
• Assembles both sterile and non‑sterile equipment, and adjusts and checks it to ensure it works properly.
• Gets patients ready for surgery by washing, shaving, and disinfecting incision sites.
• Transports patients to the operating room, helps position them on the operating table, and covers them with sterile drapes.
• Assists the surgical team with putting on sterile gowns and gloves.
• Passe instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons and surgeon assistants.
• Holds retractors, cuts sutures, and helps count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments; also helps prepare, care for, and dispose of specimens taken for laboratory analysis and helps apply dressings.
• Operates sterilizers, lights, or suction machines, and assists in operating diagnostic equipment.
• After an operation, helps transfer patients to the recovery room and cleans and restocks the operating room.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical / Mental Demands

• Ability to be on your feet for long periods and lift or turn disabled patients.

• Ability to communicate verbally both in person and on the telephone.
• Ability to use computer keyboard and to view a computer monitor.
