Job summary

Physicians Surgical Center in Lebanon, PA is seeking a part-time Certified Surgical Technician with central sterile processing experience for our fast-paced ASC. We offer a retention bonus, 401(k) with employer match, PTO and comprehensive Medical/Dental/Vision plans.

Shifts are Monday through Friday with no holidays or on-call commitments. Ideal candidates have completed an accredited surgical technologist program, at least 2 years in a fast-paced setting, and hold CPR/BLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Total joint experience is required.
• Knowledge of central sterile processing.
• CPR and BLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain equipment and instruments for surgical procedures.
• Set up the operating room with sterile instruments and supplies.
• Tend to patient during pre‑operation procedures per regulations.
• Prepare patient skin and medical equipment for procedures.
• Assemble sterile and non‑sterile equipment and verify functionality.
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist with positioning and draping.
• Assist surgeons with gowns, gloves, and passing instruments.
• Count sponges, needles and supplies; handle specimens for labs.
• Operate sterilizers, lights, suction and diagnostic equipment.
• Transfer patients to recovery and restock the OR after procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physicians Surgical Center in Lebanon is seeking a part‑time Certified Surgical Technician with central sterile processing experience for our fast‑paced ASC.

Various day shifts (Monday through Fridays), no holidays or on‑call shifts! Part‑time benefits include 401(k) program with employer match, PTO, and Medical/Dental/Vision benefit plans.

Education / Experience / Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program
• Must have total joint experience
• Knowledge of central sterile processing
• At least 2 years experience in a fast‑paced environment
• CPR certification
• BLS certification

Essential Functions

• Prepare and maintain medical equipment and instrumentation for surgical procedures.
• Before an operation, help prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions.
• Follow regulations and industry procedures to tend to patient during pre‑operation procedures.
• Perform pre‑operation preparations to the patient’s skin, body and medical equipment.
• Assemble both sterile and non‑sterile equipment, as well as adjust and check it to ensure it is working properly.
• Get patients ready for surgery by washing, shaving, and disinfecting incision sites.
• Transport patients to the operating room, help position them on the operating table, and cover them with sterile surgical drapes.
• Assist the surgical team with putting on sterile gowns and gloves.
• Pass instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgeon assistants.
• Hold retractors, cut sutures, and help count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments. Help prepare, care for, and dispose of specimens taken for laboratory analysis and help apply dressings.
• Operate sterilizers, lights, or suction machines, and help operate diagnostic equipment.
• After an operation, help transfer patients to the recovery room and clean and restock the operating room.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical / Mental Demands
