Job summary

Methodist Hospital Hill Country in Fredericksburg, TX, seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist to assist in delivering quality surgical care. The role involves preparing sterile supplies, maintaining the sterile field, and supplying instruments to the sterile field under the supervision of the surgeon and perioperative team.

The ideal candidate will have CST or TS-C certification, high school diploma or GED, and the ability to complete required training and competencies.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED equivalent required.
• Graduate of a surgical technologist program OR hires prior to 9/1/2009 may substitute with 1-year hospital experience as a surgical technologist.
• Experience: None required (unless used in lieu of education as stated above).
• Employee completes initial and ongoing training per service line, facility and department needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with delivery of quality surgical care by planning for surgeon/procedure needs.
• Coordinate with circulating perioperative nurse during procedures.
• Gather and prepare sterile supplies and maintain the sterile field.

Education

Graduate of a Surgical Technologist program
