Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Certified Surgical Tech to support safe, efficient surgical procedures in our operating suites. You will prepare the OR, assist with patient positioning and draping, and pass instruments to the physician while counting instruments throughout cases.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program, CST certification within 12 months of hire, and CPR - Basic Life Support.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) within twelve months of hire.
• CPR - Basic Life Support certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, medications, solutions, instruments, implants, and supplies.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery and maintains instrument counts.
• Receives and processes specimens for laboratory if required.
