Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to support the operating room with focus on safety and efficiency. The role includes preparing the surgical suite, assisting with patient positioning, passing instruments, and tracking instruments and supplies throughout procedures.

Qualified candidates will graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program, obtain CST within 12 months, and hold CPR-BLS certification.

Qualifications

• CPR – Basic Life Support is required.
• Physical demands include lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, medications, solutions, instruments, equipment, implants and supplies.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery and continually accounts for instruments and supplies.
