Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist to function as a scrub person in the Operating Rooms and assist under the direction of the Registered Nurse. You will prepare cases, maintain sterile fields, and ensure proper instrument counts for infant to geriatric patients.

The role emphasizes efficient case turnover, accurate specimen handling, and adherence to infection control and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Certification in surgical technology is required.
• High school diploma or certified equivalent; graduate of a formal surgical technology program.
• New graduate or experienced surgical technologist.
• Associates degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions as scrub person in the Operating Rooms and sets up cases with proper instrumentation and supplies.
• Maintains sterile field and performs accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts with RN circulator.
• Ensures proper patient positioning and assists with patient care during intra-operative phase.
• Expedites turnover of cases and assists with room clean-up and set up for new cases.
• Maintains equipment and reports issues to supervisor; adheres to infection control practices.
