Job summary

Moberly Regional Medical Center is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to support the operating room team in delivering safe, high-quality patient care. The role focuses on maintaining a sterile field, preparing instruments, and ensuring equipment readiness for scheduled procedures.

Ideal candidates will have CST or PN background with 0–2 years OR experience, strong teamwork, and dedication to infection control and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program or
• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare OR by ensuring instruments and supplies are ready for procedure.
• Maintain sterile field and follow Universal Precautions and aseptic technique.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments accurately during procedures.
• Handle instruments and equipment per policy and sterilization guidelines.
• Count sponges, needles, and instruments with the circulating nurse for safety.
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and transfers under RN direction.
• Support maintenance of physician preference cards and procedural documentation.
• Restock supplies and clean/or return equipment to storage for the next case.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with policies and standards.
