Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician program or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in room turnovers as part of procedural team.
• Assist surgeons at the surgical field across various cases.
• Prepare and set up operating room and organize sterile areas, instruments, and equipment.
• Handle and care for specific instrumentation to prevent breakage and damage.
• Review patient/physician/procedure needs to assess setup and supply needs.
• Communicate with procedural team for thorough preparedness.
• Handle and labels all specimens and update physician preference cards.
• Pull cases prior to procedures (Ambulatory Surgery Center).
• Restock, resupply, and clean ORs, carts, and sterile core.
• Serve as preceptor to students and orient regarding functions and duties.
