Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program is required.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room with sterile instruments, equipment, supplies, and solutions for procedures.
• Maintain aseptic technique and sterile field throughout procedures.
• Pass instruments to surgeon and team during procedures.
• Accurately track sponges, needles, and instruments to prevent retention.
• Assist with room turnover before/after procedures and reprocessing of equipment.
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment per standards (AAMI/AORN/TJC/OSHA).
• Assist in processing specimens for lab analysis.
• Document instrument counts, procedures, and sterilization indicators.
