Job summary

Edward Elmhurst Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for the Main Operating Room in Glenview, IL. This full-time role is 36 hours per week, with Monday–Friday 7:00am–7:00pm and on-call rotation; no travel required.

You will scrub during intraoperative procedures, assist with instrument prep and counts, handle specimens, apply dressings, and assist in decontamination and inventory maintenance in the OR.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist school or minimum 3 years' experience as a Surgical Technologist
• Current CPR certification required; CST highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub person duties during the intraoperative phase of surgical procedures
• Assist in the preparation and dispensing of instruments, equipment and supplies required for surgical procedures
• Conduct all instrument, needle, sharps and sponge counts, as well as handle specimens
• Assist in the application of dressings or casts and moving patients
• Assist in decontamination/reprocessing area when assigned
• Maintain inventory in Operating Room and on carts

Education
