Qualifications

• Surgical Technician Training Course Graduate.
• Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the Registered Nurse and other members of the surgical team in planning intra-operative care of the patient.
• Performs scrub functions for all Specialty Service Line procedures as well as major or minor specialty cases.
• Utilizes physician preference lists and nursing care plans in preparation for specific operative procedures.
• Demonstrates competency in aseptic technique and sterilization; operates decontamination unit, steam autoclave and chemical sterilization equipment.
• Uses safe methods of identification, handling, and disposition of patient specimens; ensures proper sterilization of instruments.
