Job summary

Hanker Systems, Inc. is seeking a Surgical Technologist OR in Glendale, CA, for a 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM shift. The role requires Surgical Technologist Certification and a current BLS credential, with at least 2 years of experience in an OR setting.

Responsibilities include preparing ORs, maintaining sterile fields, passing instruments, and supporting the surgical team throughout procedures. CNA certification and scrub tech experience are preferred assets.

Qualifications

• Current BLS Certification.
• Surgical Technologist Certification required.
• Min 2 years of experience in Surgical Technologist.
• Operating Room and scrub technician experience preferred.
• CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for scheduled surgical procedures.
• Assemble surgical instruments, supplies, and specialty equipment.
• Establish and maintain sterile fields throughout surgical cases.
• Pass instruments, supplies, sutures, and medications to surgeons during procedures.
• Anticipate surgical team needs and provide intraoperative support.
• Assist with tissue retraction and exposure during procedures.
• Perform instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the circulating RN.
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and infection prevention standards.
• Label medications and surgical solutions according to policy.
• Prepare and organize instrumentation for efficient retrieval during surgery.
• Assist with surgical room turnover and preparation between cases.
• Monitor inventory and maintain surgical equipment readiness.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and work areas according to department guidelines.
• Transport patients, supplies, and equipment as assigned.
• Complete clerical and department support duties when needed.
