Role requires strong communication, adherence to regulatory standards, and the ability to work closely with physicians and staff. The position emphasizes patient safety and efficient OR turnover in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking, and comprehending English effectively.
• Basic aseptic/sterile technique skills and knowledge of surgical instrumentation.
• Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and laws at various jurisdictional levels.
• Must be able to work well with multiple team members.
• Ability to multitask and maintain concentration to detail.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and informs the circulating nurse throughout a procedure.
• Assembles all necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to the procedure.
• Maintains high standards and quality in facilitating cost savings and containment.
• Monitors aseptic technique and takes corrective action for any breaks in technique.
• Supervises other healthcare team members in the surgical environment and assists with orientation and training.
