Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL is seeking a Certified Operating Room Tech to join the Surgery department. The role focuses on preparing sterile supplies, maintaining sterile field, and handing instruments to the surgeon during procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required for new hires effective Apr 2014.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years’ experience (surgical setting preferred).
• Current Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Experience scrubbing minor and major procedures in generalized surgical specialties (e.g., GYN, General, Plastics).
• Experience scrubbing in specialty areas (e.g., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro.).
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

• The Certified Operating Room Tech is responsible for preparing sterile supplies and instruments for each procedure, maintaining sterile field during the case and providing the surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures.
