Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech – First Assistant to join a collaborative perioperative team. You will work side-by-side with surgeons providing advanced intraoperative technical support across a variety of procedures.

The role requires two years OR experience, HS diploma or GED, and a Certified Surgical First Assistant within 90 days of hire. BLS certification is required; CST preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of Operating Room experience preferred.
• Certified Surgical First Assistant within 90 days of hire/transfer.
• Maintain BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Will perform all duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of the Mercy Health Care System. Provides proper exposure and visibility of the surgical field. Clamps, ties, sutures, or coagulates as directed in the surgical field. Utilizes and applies knowledge of surgical procedure and in anatomy and physiology. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers.
• Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
