Job summary

Talented Medical Solutions is seeking a Travel Certified Surgical Technician (CST) for OR coverage in Tucson, AZ. The role involves preparing the sterile field, setting up equipment, and passing instruments to the surgeon while maintaining sterile technique.

Shifts are 4x10 hours from 6:30 to 17:00 with no call or weekends. Ortho and Total Joint experience (3+ years) is required; CST certification and NBSTSA exam completion are expected; candidate must be willing to float to the Main OR.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required.
• Ortho & Total Joint experience and proficiency required.
• 3+ years of surgical tech experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room and sterile field, set up equipment and supplies.
• Pass instruments, fluids and supplies to the surgeon during procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and perform counts to prevent retained objects.

Travel: Certified Surgical Technician (CST)/ (OR)

Position Information:

Surgical technologists prepare the operating room, including the sterile field, setting up surgical equipment, supplies and solutions. During surgery, surgical technologists pass instruments, fluids and supplies to the surgeon and prepare and manage surgical equipment. Surgical technologists simultaneously manage the sterile field and specimens. Surgical technologists perform a count of sponges and supplies to prevent foreign retained objects. Surgical technologists are certified following successful completion of a CAAHEP-accredited program or other programmatically-accredited surgical technology program and the national Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) examination administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.

4x10hr shifts 6:30a - 17:00p

No call or weekends

No second shift so we use a number system to determine who stays with the later cases

Ortho & Total Joint Experience and Proficiency (3+) is Required.

Must be willing to float to the Main OR

Prefer at least 3 years experience.
