Job summary

TEEMA Solutions Group is seeking a Travel CST for a position starting ASAP in Carlsbad, California. This role is for a duration of 13 weeks, offering dayshift hours with on-call requirements. The ideal candidate will have over 2 years of experience in surgical technology, and the role entails preparing the operating room, assisting surgeons during operations, and ensuring the sterile field is maintained.

Certification in surgical technology and a BLS certification are required, along with experience in multiple surgical disciplines.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in surgical technology is essential.
• BLS certification is a mandatory requirement.
• Experience with various surgical specialties is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, including the sterile field.
• Pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon.
• Manage the sterile field and perform counts of sponges and supplies.

Shift: Days, 7a-5:30p, 4x10hr shifts, call required

Call requirements

1 weekday per week at minimum, weekend rotation; On-call shifts Monday-Friday 15:30-07:00, Saturday and Sunday 07:00-07:00

Responsibilities

Surgical technologists prepare the operating room, including the sterile field, setting up surgical equipment, supplies and solutions. During surgery, surgical technologists pass instruments, fluids and supplies to the surgeon and prepare and manage surgical equipment. Surgical technologists simultaneously manage the sterile field and specimens. Surgical technologists perform a count of sponges and supplies to prevent foreign retained objects.

Surgical technologists are certified following successful completion of a CAAHEP-accredited program or other programmatically-accredited surgical technology program and the national Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) examination administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
