Job summary

Ardent Health Services seeks a night-shift, full-time Labor and Delivery Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) in Amarillo, TX. The CST supports surgical teams during obstetric procedures and maintains sterile technique.

Candidates must hold NBSTSA CST or NCCT certification, have BLS within 14 days, and complete a CAAHEP-accredited program. Prior experience is preferred in a fast-paced perinatal setting.

Responsibilities

• The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) works under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.
• The CST ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
• This role ensures the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Must hold and maintain certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgery Assisting (NBSTSA) or NCCT certification if practicing prior to 2009.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited or other nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Previous experience as a surgical technologist.
