Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking a weekend-shift, full-time Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) in Amarillo, TX. You will assist surgeons and the OR team to maintain a sterile field and support safe, efficient procedures.

Qualifications include completing a CAAHEP-accredited program and holding CST certification (NBSTSA) or NCCT if prior to 2009; BLS must be obtained within 14 days of hire. Previous CST experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited or other nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists.
• Must hold and maintain CST certification from NBSTSA or NCCT certification if practicing prior to 2009.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• The CST works under the supervision of surgeons, RNs, and other surgical personnel to facilitate safe, invasive procedures.
• Maintains sterile field and ensures safe operating room environment.
• Verifies equipment function and patient safety during operative procedures.

Responsibilities

• The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) works under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.
• The CST ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
• This role ensures the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Must hold and maintain certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or NCCT certification if practicing prior to 2009.
